IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival

The Phoenix Desert Dragons are thrilled to announce our upcoming journey to Aix-les-Bains, France, from August 24–30, 2026, for the IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival!

Held every 3 to 4 years under the auspices of the International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission (IBCPC), this international, non-competitive event is a celebration of strength, survivorship, and the healing power of community. It brings together breast cancer paddler teams from around the world who use dragon boat paddling as a form of post-diagnosis rehabilitation—and for the first time since IBCPC’s founding in 2010, the festival will be hosted in France.

Dragon boating has become a meaningful therapy for tens of thousands of women—and men—worldwide following a breast cancer diagnosis. The 2026 festival is expected to welcome over 4,500 participants from 320 teams across 37 countries, representing every continent.

We’re honored to be part of this inspiring global gathering—a week filled with support, camaraderie, and spirited racing. Lifelong friendships are formed, and the courage of every paddler is felt in every stroke.

Thanks to years of fundraising, the Phoenix Desert Dragons are ready to take on this incredible journey—but we still need your help to make it happen!

Support our journey by making a donation today. Your contribution will help cover travel, accommodations, and race expenses, making it possible for our team to represent Arizona—and all breast cancer survivors—on the international stage.
